oh what a weekend of football (:

aside from the Saints’ game, this weekend of football has been quite pleasing to me! (: let’s see…the Colts won, the Patriots lost, the Steelers lost to the Raiders…i’m watching the last 2 and a half minutes of the Giants game and they’re on top 31-17…so its looking good! the Colts clinched the AFC South last week…the Patriots are falling nicely behind…and now it looks like the Giants are back in the running for the NFC wildcard! everyone says, “oh, you know, there’s really no hope for the Giants at this point…they have to beat Dallas.” well everyone, looks like you were wrong! (there’s now 1:55 left…)

everyone was also saying how today’s game vs. Tennessee was going to be so epic…you know, the “red-hot Titans” are looking for their 6th win in a row! Vince Young is on a roll, he’s gonna bring them to the playoffs on the wildcard! HAHAHAH. that’s funny. how about that game today? seems like a blowout to me! the Colts are now 12-0, and i couldn’t be happier. Dallas Clark is running right behind Reggie Wayne for most receptions this season…if he doesn’t make the prowbowl this year i will cry. for sure.

as the clock runs down in the Giants game…its pretty much official now that they are going to win…which makes me happy!! finally i can wear my Giants stuff to school tomorrow! its been a while…my Colts attire has pretty much taken over my closet…but there’s some hope now that i can break into the other stuff! okay…not much else to say at this point….

hope everyone has a good week! (:

little side note (:

so…just a little side note for everyone…its tuesday, so i thought i’d give a tiny little scoop on the monday night game. let me make it clear that the Saints beat the Patriots and i am a happy camper (: the Pats are now 7-4 (? yes i think so). and, yes that does mean that the Saints are also an undefeated team…leaving them and the Colts as the only 2 teams in the NFL that are still unbeaten, at 11-0. (11-0!!!!!) (: i’m very excited for the Colts, and I must say, I am kind of surprised that the Saints are unbeaten, but i do give them credit. its not easy to go 11-0, for anyone. The Saints take on the Washington Redskins, which i must say, should be a pretty easy game for them. The Colts take on division rivals, Tennessee, at home. The Titans really a need a win if they have any hope of ever making the playoffs. (We’ll be sure that doesn’t happen! [: ) And, the Patttiosss take on division rivals the Miami Dolphins. We shall see how that turns out .

That’s all for nowwww ! (:

its manning vs. favre

so, they don’t announce the league mvp until like, what? january i think, but so anyway, there’s already been huge controversy between like analysts about who should get the mvp award…manning or favre? now, of course my first reaction is to say manning!! cause i’m such a big Colts fan, but after analyzing everything…i think that i’m going to have to say that mr. brett favre deserves this prize. wow that took alot of effort for me to say (: anyway…yeah, favre has done pretty well this season…if anyone remembers the vikings from last year?? i don’t know what their exact record was, but i know it was a losing one. and now look at them! they have become 10-1 in the blink of an eye, and with some great receivers like percy harvin and a fantastic running back like adrian peterson, who can blame anyone for picking him? yes, peyton has lead the Colts to a so-far-undefeated season, he still has thrown quite a few interceptions, has not been playing as long as brett, and he just isn’t looking like the year’s “perfect candidate”. so, sorry peyton, even tony dungy agrees with me (:

moving on to week 12 summary, despite the game between New Orleans and New England tonight, the week has come to a close, filled with quite a few much needed and close wins, i must say…let’s see…there were 4 games that had a margin of 3 points between a win and a loss…and for the Tennessee Titans and the Baltimore Ravens, that was a much needed win. if either of these teams lost, it meant that any hopes of making the playoffs would pretty much be over. but, both of these teams won yesterday, so their playoff hopes are still alive. not like that really applies to the Colts though! they clinched the AFC South with a win over division rivals, the Texans, and a loss by the Jaguars. Gooooo Colts!

Hmmmm…not much else to say…i’m looking forward to tonight’s game between the Pats and the Saints, although I’m reallyyyyy not a fan of either team…i can’t ever ever ever bring myself to root for the Patriots, so New Orleans, you have my vote. the Giants are most unfortunately so far out of your reach, so, i guess i can root for you. ehhh…go saints? alright… enjoy tonight’s game!

week 12 already??

where has this season gone?? my goodness, it seems like we were just preparing for the hall of fame game! but yes, it is week 12, and it is a week filled with many division games. but before we move on to week 12 sunday, we must look back at week 12 thursday…

hope everyone had a great thanksgiving! I sure did, but one thing that would have made it better is…BETTER FOOTBALL! now, i’m all for traditions…the Lions always play, the Cowboys always play, blah blah blah…how about giving them some equal opponents? Like don’t have the Lions play the Packers, where its sort of obvious who’s going to win! (Sorry Detroit fans). Also, don’t have a relatively good team like the Cowboys take on the Raiders. Do i even have to tell you who won those games? What an easy win for the Packers and Cowboys! Moving on to the Thursday night game…yes the Giants lost to the Broncos. End of story…moving on!

okay, so for all those division games….

  1. NFC South (Bucs @ Falcons)
  2. AFC East (Dolphins @ Bills)
  3. NFC East (Redskins @ Eagles)
  4. NFC West (Seahawks @ Rams)
  5. AFC North (Browns @ Bengals)
  6. AFC South (Colts @ Texans)
  7. AFC West (Chiefs @ Chargers
  8. NFC North (Bears @ Vikings)
  9. AFC North (Steelers @ Ravens)

So./././ how about that? 9 division games! some less exciting than the others, but division games, nonetheless. i would say 6, 8, and 9 are the games i most looking forward to as a good game. if the Colts win today, and the Jaguars lose, then the Colts can clinch the AFC South!!

alright, i gotta cut this short, but hope everyone enjoys their football-filled sunday!

America Voted…

As I was watching ESPN last night, i noticed that I agreed with a lot of the teams that “America voted for” to win today. I guess that would make sense though because I am part of America…but anyway, i  was happy to see that America picked the Colts to beat the Ravens. By quite a large margin actually. Definitely more than half. Unfortunately though, America wasn’t on the same side as the New York Giants. ): I mean, who would have thought at this time last year that America would be on the same side as the Atlanta Falcons? Come on everyone, have faith in your team…errr…my team! I just got accused of being a band wagon fan by my family! That really makes me angry, because I was a true red and blue G-Men fan even before they won the super bowl, and  I still support them now, even when they’re not doing so hot…

So, you know, I love football. A whole lot, but I do have to say that I’m not exactly head over heels excited for SNF tonight. I mean come on…I’m a Colts and Giants fan, and the 2 teams playing tonight are the Eagles and the Bears. It’s obvious that I’m not a huge fan of either team…I can’t like the Eagles because they are in the same division and the Giants. And I just don’t like the Bears. You can’t really like the Bears and the Colts…at least that’s what I think. But I think I’m just going to have to root for the Bears…most unfortunately.

Now another game I’m looking forward to today is the New York Jets vs. the New England Patriots. The Pats are fresh off another loss, happily handed to them by the Colts. Need I remind you about last week’s game? I think not, you few Pats fans that are reading this. There’s no question that I’ll be rooting for the Jets, because we all know how I feel about the Patriots. So anyway, that’s pretty much all I have to say!

Go Colts, Go Giants!

(:

mission accomplished

what’s that, 2 years in a row now? The Indianapolis Colts have defeated the New England Patriots 2 years running now, making our record 9-0 for the fourth (?) year in a row, and making theirs 6-3. !!! THis year i hate to say it, but it was closer than ever, with a final score of 35-34, with a winning touchdown in the last 2 minutes by Reggie Wayne, after Bill Belicheat decided to go for it at 4th and 2 instead of punting it. Now, moving straight to that…that has become an extremely controversial call. Belicheck is getting a lot of crap for that call. everyone is saying that he should have punted instead of going for it when the situation was so down to the wire. now honestly, i think that either way, he would have gotten crap, because if he would have punted, peyton could have easily moved down the field in a couple of minutes, provided he didn’t throw an interception…but as we saw in reality, if he went for it, the outcome is what happens. although, give him some credit…the Pats had gotten most of their third and fourth downs that night, so with such a close call, why not just go for it that time, too? whatever, we won, they lost, and i really love to see that.

now between the Bengals/Steelers game, the Bengals ended up on top, which means they are on top of the AFC North. been a long time since the Bengals have been on top of anything but the list of worst teams in the league. Fortunately, or would it be UNfortunately, Chad (ugh) Ochocinco didn’t score a touchdown, so he didn’t get himself fined like he said he would. he seems like such a tool..wait, he is.

now, as i’m reading on nfl.com right now…the headline reads:

“Let’s Get it Started: Can Ray Lewis hand Peyton Manning and the Colts their first loss this Sunday?”

my answer? no. of course not. yes, the Ravens have given the Colts some trouble in the past, but I think we can definetely take them on Sunday. I’ll definetely be watching!!

Now finally, the Giants take on the Falcons at home. so let’s hope they can pull out a win. oh wait, didn’t i say that when they played San Diego??? I think i did, and i had pretty much called that a win to Phillip Rivers threw another touchdown within like the last flippin minutes of the game!! but, come on guys, you had a buy last week! i have hope in my g-mennnn (:

week 10! (we are in double digits now!)

so, i kept to my word, and i haven’t posted since i think monday. busy busy week! so, its week 10! oh my goodness, it seems like just last week i was getting excited for season openers, and now theres only 6 weeks left! … plus post season, so i guess there’s still a lot left (:

so if you ask me, this week is my favorite week in the regular season…Indianapolis vs. New England. the rivalry of the decade. it all started in 2003 when the Patriots came to Indianapolis and beat them on their own turf. then a year later, the Colts went to New England and lost again, a few years past, and the 2 teams continued to play each other in many close championship games, and the Patriots always seemed to come out on top. then, as you know, in 2007 (2006 season), the Colts beat the Pats in the AFC Championship game, sending the Colts to their first superbowl as the Indianapolis Colts. (2 as the former Baltimore Colts in 1968 and 1970) and, that’s the story of the rivalry.

anyways, its epic to me. only my friends and family really understand how much i hate the Patriots. I cannot explain to you on here in words how much passion stands behind my hate for them. More specifically, i hate tom brady. don’t even get me started on how much i dislike him. now last year’s game was not nearly as fun because tom brady was out all year with a knee injury, so instead of manning vs. brady it was manning vs. cassel, so it really was no fun. so, this game is going to be so freaking amazing. and its at home. lets go Colts!!!!! but unfortunately, the Patriots are playing some secretly…good football. ughhhh

now moving on…another rivalry game of the week would be the Cincinatti Bengals @ the Pittsburgh Steelers. they are both 6-2, and this game is for the division lead. its been a long time since the Bengals have been taken seriously…sorry guys, you know its true. so, if anyone remembers last week when Chad (ugh) Ochocinco was holding a dollar bill to bribe the ref? well, he got fined for that..and he said that this week if he scores a touchdown in the Steeltown, he will do something that will get him fined again…okay, you’re cool. whatever.

and now finally, the Giants have their bye…so lets hope that they use this week to get everyone healthy so they can beat the Falcons (5-3, take on division rivals Carolina this week) when they host them next week.

oh and real quick, the Bears lost to the 49ers on TNF (:

its going to be a great week of football, so everyone enjoy!

(:

11/08/2009

and then there were none

okay, so i lied. but this will most likely be my last post of the week. anyway…i’m getting ready to watch the Eagles/Cowboys game on SNF, so I figured i’d post while i’m in  football mode.

so…speaking of the NFC East. i apologize to those of you who watched that Chargers/Giants game. it really depressed me, to be honest. i was so excited that the Giants were going to pull out their first win in 3 games at home, but obviously, that was not the case. 21-20 was the final score…one stupid little poiint, and now the Giants have dropped to 4-4. if they lose one more game, they will officially be considered a “losing team”. this is horrible! as for the game tonight, i think i’m going to have to root for the Eagles, even though it doesn’t make much of a difference, since they have the same record. but techincally on nfl.com, the Cowboys are in first in the division, and the Eagles are in second. So i’ll root for the underdogs. And the fact that i really don’t like the Cowboys, except i like them a teensie weensie bit more now that TO is gone…

moving on…the game’s started now if you were wondering., oh! i’ll explain what the headline means… as of 4ish today, there are no more winless teams in the NFL. for this season.. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Green Bay Packers! sorry cheeseheads. but this means that Raheem Morris got his first win as a head coach today, too. the Bucs broke out their vintage jerseys too. you know, the red and orange with the old-fashioned buccaneer/pirate guy. actually, i’m pretty sure i have an ornament with that guy on it, thank you mom. anyway, those jerseys are from when the Bucs were like 0-26? or something along thos lines..so congratulations to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers! (:

so, now on to the 2 undefeated teams left in the league. the  Colts managed to pull out a win over the Texans to stay undefeated. it was definitely not a pretty win, but hey, i’ll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day. not gonna lie, i do feel kinda bad for the Texans’ kicker who could have tied the game for overtime. he was a cutie (: wouldn’t have felt bad if he got it though. if you were wondering, Peyton threw for 40 passes. just in the first half!! and dallas clark had a lovely game, he tied the record for most receptions in one game by a tight end!!  so now the Colts have a day to rest up before they have to start prepping for their big AFC showdown next Sunday night: New England at Indianapolis. AKA my favorite game of the season!! there’s a team you always have to be careful of. the Patriots are secretly playing some really good football right now. you just haven’t really heard a lot about them because they’re not one of the undefeated teams left, like they normally are. they are actually 2 games ahead of the Jets in the AFC East. (ughh) Well anyways, the other team left is New Orleans, of which I explained earlier, i am not a huge fan of. i wasn’t really paying much attention to their game, but I know they beat division rivals Carolina today. Now the Saints are 8-0, and the Panthers are 3-5.

so, i think that’s pretty much it. i can’t wait until next weekend, though. Gooooo Colts!

oh, ps: vote for who you want to see in the pro bowl this year! (01.31.10) which is surprisingly in South Florida this year, not in Hawaii, where its always been since i’ve been alive, i think. anyways, vote @ www.nfl.com/probowl (:

week 9 preview !

so, i posted last night…but i can almost guarantee I won’t be able to post at all this week until next sunday, so i’m going to make up for it this weekend, when I’m free.

So…the 2 1 o clock games that I”m really looking forward to are: (obviously) Houston Texans @ Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens @ Cinncinatti Bengals, both division games, and both close division games at that. Starting off with the Houston/Indianapolis game, the Colts have a record of 7-0 (obviously again) and the Texans have a record of 5-3. In past years, its mostly been the Colts and the Titans battling it out for first place in the division (last year the Titans actually beat the Colts for the AFC South title for the first time in 5 years last year if you forgot (= ) but, as you probably know, the Titans are about as far as it gets from being first in the division. So, pretty much, the Titans and Texans have switched places this season. Now, its not quite to the point that the Colts will lose their spot as first in the division if they lose tomorrow, it will make the Texans all that much closer to winning the division. The Texans are going to be a lot more of a challenge than they have in recent years, so we’ll just have to wait for the outcome tomorrow! As for the Baltimore/Cinncinatti game…also a pretty close game, and closer than it would have been in years past, too. Its been a while since you’ve seen the Cinncinatti Bengals anywhere above, what? 4-12? well anyway, they have a record of 5-2 right now, and are on top of the AFC East. Closely behind them though are the Pittsburgh Steelers. And then, in a close third are the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers have a record of 5-2 just like the Ravens are 4-3. So, tomorrow’s game between Cinncinatti and Baltimore ought to be a good one. And, if the Ravens win, they’ll probably jump to 2nd, and the Bengals to 3rd, and if the Bengals win, not much will change for either team, because the Browns can’t win 5 games in one week…

Moving to 4 o clock…I’m obviously most excited for the San Diego Chargers @ the New York Giants because, you know me, the Giants fan.. (: well, the Giants realy really really need this win tomorrow. like really really badly. They’re third in the division right now, and if they want to have any hope of winning their division, or at the very least getting one of the NFC wild cards, they have to win!! It would really depress me if they didn’t get into the playoffs, and although the season is only at the halfway point, its never too early to start talking playoff. at least for me.

And finally, between the sunday night and monday night game, i would have to say the one i’m looking most forward to is the Dallas Cowboys @ the Philadelphia Eagles. The battle of the NFC East. The Cowboys and Eagles both have a record of 5-2, and very closely behind them are the Giants with a record of 5-3. ughh, if the Giants would have already had their bye week, then they would have maybe been ahead of the Cowboys because they totally beat them!! The Giants have their bye in Week 10 if you were wondering… So anyway, tomorrow night is going to be a good game for sure. All in all…it seems like its going to be a pretty good week of football! Oh, and I should probably add (for all you Bears fans…ugh, sorry, that they head to Arizona to take on the Cardinals at 1.

winless no more;

So, I’m not even going to address the fact that I haven’t written anything since like, what, August? (Other than that sentence…) I’m moving on. Hmmm, so jumping straight to the headline. The Tennessee Titans and the St. Louis Rams have finally won a game this season. As for the Rams, I’m pretty sure that Sunday’s win was their first win in like 17 games. So good for them. Not gonna lie though, I really loved seeing the Titans lose because, hey, they’re in ACS just like the Colts, and it made us look all the better. But, they’re of course still last in the division, and far behind. The closest team they are to catching up to is Jacksonville, and they’re 3-4. That leaves Tennessee 29 out of 32 in the league standings. It also leaves only 1 winless team left; Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Again, I’m going to be totally honest here. The Bucs aren’t exactly the team I want to see at the very bottom. Being from Tampa myself, I feel kind of bad for them. Remember the Super Bowl XXXVII Champions? Yeah, that would be them.

So switching sides now, going from winless to loss…less? However you would say that…there are only 2 teams left in the NFL that are undefeated. One in the AFC (south to be more specific) and one in the NFC (south too, actually). The Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints. Obviously I’m happy about the Colts being undefeated. (: But, not so much the Saints. I’ve never really been a Saints hater, but ever since they killed the Giants’ hopes of an undefeated season (yes, i know, thats unlikely), i’ve kind of been a sore loser. Anyways, the Saints take on division rivals Carolina (3-4) at home; and the Colts take on their divison rivals Houston (5-3) at home as well. That oughta be more of a game than in recent years…

So, speaking of the Giants…gosh, do I even mention them? What happened?? 3 weeks ago they were 5-0…on top of their division by a landslide, and going into a battle of the conference undefeated versus New Orleans. But now? They have a record of 5-3, and have dropped to third in their division; behind Philadelphia and Dallas. I mean, come on. Philadelphia? Is this the same Philadelphia that lost to Oakland? It seems like just a few weeks ago I was blogging about New York beating Dallas at their home-opener…oh wait, it was. Ugh. Now I have to hope they can pull out a win at home versus San Diego (4-3) on Sunday.

Let’s see what else…oh! Let’s talk about the most competitive division in each conference at the end of week 8. I would have to say for the AFC, it would be the AFC North..the Cinncinatti Bengals and the Pittsburgh Steelers are in first and second place of the division with a record of 5-2. And, right behind them is the Baltimore Ravens with a record of 4-3. And of course…there’s the Cleveland Browns which are kind of a non-entity. The competitive division in the NFC would have to be the NFC East. The Philadelphia Eagles and the  Dallas Cowboys are in first and second place with a record of  5-2. And right behind them, is the New York Giants with a record of 4-3.

And finally, this (sort of…) just in: The Indianapolis Colts have 3 players out for the season…DB Marlin Jackson, OLB Tyjuan Hagler, and S Bob Sanders are all out. Also, it seems WR Anthony Gonzalez has just receieved surgery on his knee that he injured during the season opener. Look for WR Hank Baskett (formerly of Philadelphia) in Gonzalez’s place on Sunday when the Colts take on Houston at home.
